How to reset the license?

When you move to a new domain and the old site is already gone, take the old site off your license in your account, then activate the license on the new site.

Your account is at WordPlus Cloud, which keeps the licenses of the WebSocket version:

  1. Go to www.wordplus.cloud and log in, or create an account, with the email address you bought with. Your licenses show up on their own. If you have forgotten the password, reset it from the login form.
  2. Open Licences and choose your Better Messages license.
  3. Under Sites, press Deactivate beside the old domain, and confirm.
  4. Activate the license on the new site with the same key.

This works for every version of the plugin, including sites that still run Better Messages 3.0.

If the old site still runs Better Messages 3.1 or later, you can also take it off the license there: Better Messages → Licence → Deactivate on this site.

Staging and local copies of a site (such as staging., .local or .test addresses) do not use one of the sites of the license, so there is nothing to reset for them. See Staging sites.
